What is the difference between a duvet insert and a comforter?
Duvet inserts are comforters that feature duvet tabs on each corner to use with a duvet cover. While you can use a duvet cover with any comforter, it is much easier to use one with duvet tabs, as this enables your comforter to move with the duvet cover over time. If you never plan to use a duvet cover, you can skip the duvet inserts and shop for your next favorite comforter.

The More You Know - Duvet Loops
Over the years, we have seen all manner of questions about duvet inserts - so let us share some of those:
Can you remove duvet loops from a duvet insert?
Yes, you can remove the duvet loops from a duvet insert. Carefully remove them with scissors, and BE CAREFUL to not cut the main fabric - as the filling may leak out.
Why would you want to remove the duvet loops?
The duvet loops on a duvet insert can wrap or catch on things when not used with a duvet cover. So, if you are sure you will never use a duvet cover, you can remove them.
I stayed at a hotel using a duvet insert. Do I need one for home?
Duvet inserts tend to run small for hotels, so if you loved one at the hotel, you don't need to buy one for home unless you plan to use a duvet cover. In that case, we do suggest a duvet insert. We do, however, have larger-size down alternative comforters.
